Description:

The Neosho School District is searching for a highly motivated special education process coordinator for the remainder of the 2025/2026 school year.

Supervises the special education process from referral through placement and provisions of services, appropriate identification and placement of students with disabilities; and district compliance with state and federal requirements for special education. This process includes but is not limited to overseeing and facilitating meetings and procedures for the IEP process, conduct initial and mandatory 3-year re-evaluations, behavior/discipline, 504 plans (buildings), and functional behavior assessments. Process coordinators are also involved in research and the analysis of data for programs, behavior, and academic progress. They train and assist teachers with web-based IEP programs. They also assist in the collection of data for several different reports that are required throughout the year. Coordinates assistive technology needs for students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer educational evaluations, assist with making eligibility determinations, and complete all necessary related paperwork.
  • Supervise the special education and 504 process from referral through placement and provision of services.
  • Assist in research and analysis of data for programs, behavior, and academic progress.
  • Assist in collection of data for state/district reports.
  • Coordinate assistive technology needs for students.
  • Assist site staff in organizing and providing special education and related services in compliance with Federal/State/District regulations.
  • Assist site staff in achieving school improvement plans.
  • Assist site staff with aligning assessments with goals and instructional strategies of the district curriculum.
  • Assist in conducting program evaluation activities, meeting district/department goals, and completing tier monitoring reviews.
  • Assist in conducting training and professional development activities for special education staff.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Special Services Director.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Education
  • Two years successful special education teaching experience
  • Detailed understanding of the special education process
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and mature judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to get along well with others and handle confidential matters
  • Ability to manage time and multiple priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to transport daily via personal transportation to various district sites

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Cross categorical certification or certification in at least 3 areas of special education or related areas.
