Parcel Utility/Boxmaker

Job Description

Summary:

This position is responsible for running the boxmakermachines to construct the boxes needed for shipping products out to variouscustomers/vendors/departments. This position is also responsible for helping toload trailers, sourcing the parcel pack stations, daily cleanup of the parcelarea and maintaining the box making equipment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Makes custom shipping boxes per shipping department requestsfor customer orders.

Operates, troubleshoots, and maintains Packsize box makingmachines per SOP and safety guidelines.

Performs preventative maintenance on machines on adaily/weekly basis.

Ensures adequate stocking box supply for the Parcel/LTL, andFabrication departments.

Takes used/scrap cardboard to balers, baling daily.

Unloads parcel department rollers onto the UPS trailer asrequested during the day.

Stocks parcel pack stations during the day as needed toprevent run outs.

Stocks any parcel supplies stored in annex.

Efficient, safe operation of forklift equipment to keepcardboard & supplies racks full.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma, or GED equivalent needed. Any furthereducation/experience in the warehousing area preferred.

Must maintain a positive attitude, with a customer servicefocus in a fast-paced work environment.

Use of forklift trucks & order pickers experience needed.Certification required.

Should possess ability to multi-task, manage timeeffectively, and prioritize tasks.

Should be detail-oriented, focused, driven, and aself-starter.

Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, andorganizational skills.

Any maintenance or mechanical knowledge a plus.

Mon-Fri, Day Shift

Working Conditions:

Job will include periods of standing, walking, reaching,stooping/kneeling, and bending. Stair climbing and walking on uneven surfaceswill also be present. Subject to heat/cold conditions in warehouse conditions.Moderate use of hands and arms will be needed. May be required to lift to 50 lbs. by self, or team lift to 100 lbs. Useof mechanical lifts required for heavier orders. Will be required to operatedwarehouse machinery such as forklifts and pickers as needed.
